HP Media Vault

What is HP Media Vault?

The HP Media Vault is a home printer and file server from Hewlett-Packard. One of the advantages of the system is that if the primary drive is lost (which includes some system software which works in conjunction with the firmware) the system can be restored onto a replacement SATA hard drive using HP's nasrecovery software.

Overview

During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 8 files and is usually about 8.37 MB (8,777,269 bytes).
