What is Dell Client System Update?
Dell Client System Update 1x1 Tool is a stand-alone application that provides a Windows Update like experience for Dell Business Client platforms. The application provides the ability to retrieve and update systems software released by Dell. Note: The updates offered and provided by this tool may be a subset of the updates offered on Dell's support website. Update Packages for Windows can be used as a stand-alone application to apply an update and ensure that specific validation criteria are met before performing the update.
Overview
It is typically pre-installed with most new Dell computers. The most common release is 1.3.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named DellClientSystemUpdate.exe. The setup package generally installs about 29 files and is usually about 23.7 MB (24,853,960 bytes). The installed file DellClientSystemUpdate.exe is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered.
