The Toshiba Flash Cards Support Utility is an program designed to provide a means of enabling support the built in flash card port on various Toshiba laptop models. It is typically pre-installed with new Toshiba laptops. It provides software that enabled detection of an inserted flashcard and interacts with Windows to perform seledcted option when a card is added (or removed). Microsoft Windows however has built in generic support for flash cards, but this utility assists in the device driver aspect of the card.

The most common release is 1.63.0.4c, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named KeNotify.exe. The setup package generally installs about 37 files and is usually about 1.99 MB (2,086,492 bytes).
