World of Warships
Overview
World of Warships is a software program developed by Wargaming.net. It adds registry entry for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named wowslauncher.exe. The setup package generally installs about 63 files and is usually about 38.41 MB (40,272,881 bytes). The installed file WargamingGameUpdater.exe is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered. Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 10 and Windows 7 (SP1). While about 50% of users of World of Warships come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and France.
