Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server
Overview
Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server is a program developed by Valve. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is srcds.exe. The software installer includes 50 files and is usually about 2.15 MB (2,252,221 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows XP. While about 80% of users of Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server come from the United States, it is also popular in France and Australia.
