What is Packard Bell Updator?
The Packard Bell Updater program is included by default with most new Packard Bell computers. Packard Bell Updater is the updater program which runs with Windows (in the background as a service) and automatically starts up when your computer boots. It checks for updates and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. Packard Bell Update checks for installed Packard Bell OEM software included with a new PC.
Overview
A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named SmartRestore.exe. The setup package generally installs about 3 files and is usually about 2.47 MB (2,594,178 bytes).
