My experience with Nuance is quite opposed to yours. It was great, overall. True, I ended up with Nuance Cloud when I bought the OCR programme. But I am very happy with OCR 18, which I downloaded in the middle of the night when HP and the others couldn't/wouldn't help. Better still, I have the Nuance Dragon dictation which is fantastic - I had been waiting for years for it to be invented - and then I found it at Nuance. .True. their chat agent, even though (or perhaps, because) he was in Calgary, didn't have a clue about Canadian office language requirements. He told me I had to buy an English kit from him and then if I really wanted it I had to go to France to get a French dictation kit. I got the Nuance chat service in France (even though it was the middle of the night for them). They told me the French kit also includes English dictation - I didn't require what I had paid to Calgary! Indeed their Belgian kit provides English, French, Dutch and German dictation, which I don't need but. WOW! I downloaded the French kit from the guy in France and was at work with it within the hour. After Christmas, I phoned the US office and after explaining this saga, the nice lady told me she would refund the money I had paid to Calgary if I promised not to use the English-only kit I had down-loaded from Calgary. Within a week, my refund was on my credit card statement. Everybody I talked to were fantastically polite and willing to help. With the exception of the nice guy in Calgary (although he was clueless about his Nuance products other than Alberta English), all were exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. But, I agree with you at least when you say that Nuance has great kit! .

Nuance might have some fancy products but they are one of the worst companies to deal with. When I bought OmniPage, I went to download it. It told me I had already downloaded it way too many times. It took me six different phone calls to fix that. And then when I called about this, and told then it said Nuance Cloud Connector, the rep said that it did not, I had to call back and when speaking with Tech Support they actually hung up on me. I would not recommend this company at all.
