What is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Browser?
The SQL Server Browser program runs as a Windows service. SQL Server Browser listens for incoming requests for Microsoft SQL Server resources and provides information about SQL Server instances installed on the computer. SQL Server Browser can be configured during setup or by using SQL Server Configuration Manager. By default, the SQL Server Browser service starts automatically.
Overview
The most common release is 10.1.2531.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named sqlbrowser.exe. The setup package generally installs about 61 files and is usually about 5.15 MB (5,396,480 bytes).

How do I remove Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Browser?
