What is Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor?
Intel Turbo Boost Technology is activated when the Operating System (OS) requests the highest processor performance state (P0). When the processor is operating below these limits and the user's workload demands additional performance, the processor frequency will dynamically increase until the upper limit of frequency is reached. Intel Turbo Boost Technology has multiple algorithms operating in parallel to manage current, power, and temperature to maximize performance and energy efficiency.

Overview
The most common release is 1.0.400.4, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named TurboBoost.exe. The setup package generally installs about 16 files and is usually about 1.36 MB (1,430,726 bytes).
