Overview
Intel Rapid Start Technology is a program developed by Intel. The most used version is 2.1.0.1002, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The programs's main executable is irstrtsv.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 1018 KB of memory. The software installer includes 18 files and is usually about 3.15 MB (3,299,540 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 10 as well as Windows 7 (SP1). While about 45% of users of Intel Rapid Start Technology come from the United States, it is also popular in Brazil and Canada.
