Genieo Innovation was founded by Sol Tzvi & Jacob Tenenboem, with the objective of developing a personalization platform which, unlike common platforms, resides solely on the user's computer & permits desktop application providers to add personalization capabilities without jeopardizing the user's privacy. Based on ideas of text mining, behavioral targeting & personalization algorithms, Genieo has developed a framework that can automatically discover, manage & filter feeds according to user's topics of interest. Although trying to make a better web, Genieo became an adware type program. The company developed & released its first product, a dynamic homepage that utilizes Genieo's personalization framework to automatically generate a personal newspaper-like homepage on the user's browser.
