What is UE3Redist?
UE3Redist is a redistributable package that is installed with various games that utilize the Unreal Engine 3 developement kit. It is required in order to run the game(s) that distributed this and removing it would cause those games not to function properly. During installation of the game, it will install the UE3Redist (Unreal Engine Redistributable) package which is not an option. Typical Epic games that utilize this redistributable package include Unreal Tournament, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bioshock, Borderlands, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Medal of Honor: Airborne, and many more games. The reason that this is installed as a stand along program than being bundled into the game itself is that it allows multiple games that utilize the UDK to not have to install the core engine multiple times.

How do I remove UE3Redist?
You can uninstall UE3Redist from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
- On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall a Program.
- Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
- When you find the program UE3Redist, click it, and then do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall.
- Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
- Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove UE3Redist.
