SK.Helper is a protection mechanism that is designed to protect bundled software of potentially unwanted programs distributed through bundles. Also know as SProtector, SKHelper is typically installed with adware such as toolbars and its primary purpose is to prevent a web browser's home page or search engine from being modified to something other than what the adware has set it to. According to multiple anti-virus products this software is generally defined as either an unwanted application or a trojan.

The primary executable is named psupport.dll. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 2 files and is usually about 1.32 MB (1,380,056 bytes).
