Minitab Software Update Manager
What is Minitab Software Update Manager?
Minitab Software Update Manager is the software update program that runs with Windows in the background and checks for updates, and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates. If it finds an item to download, it will download and install the new update.
Overview
The most used version is 1.1.0.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is softwaremanager.exe. The software installer includes 6 files and is usually about 4.74 MB (4,965,432 bytes).
