Overview
Java 7 Update 9 is a program developed by Oracle. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. It adds a Browser Helper Object (BHO) to Internet Explorer. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is javaws.exe. The software installer includes 88 files and is usually about 29.93 MB (31,382,769 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows 10. While about 43% of users of Java 7 Update 9 come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and United Kingdom.

Java 7 Update 9 has been seen bundling various 3rd party software during the installation process. Make sure to check for and remove unused programs.
