Java 7 Update 7
What is Java 7 Update 7? (from Oracle)
This releases brings in key security features and bug fixes. Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE 7 users upgrade to this release. JavaFX 2.2.4 is now bundled with the JDK on Windows, Mac and Linux x86/x64.
Overview
Java 7 Update 7 is a software program developed by Oracle. It adds registry entry for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. It adds a Browser Helper Object (BHO) to Internet Explorer. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named javaws.exe. The setup package generally installs about 78 files and is usually about 128.37 KB (131,452 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows XP. While about 46% of users of Java 7 Update 7 come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and United Kingdom.
