What is Free Zip?
This is an installer of a free zip based program that is solely designed to use the Somoto Better Installer to distribute adware and other potentially unwanted programs. The installer advertises through multiple channels (malvertising) in order to tempt a user to download the software. The software itself is just a bundler/download manager that generates revenue by 'offering' additional installs for items such as toolbars, web browser extensions and utilities such as PC optimization programs.

Overview
A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is 7zfm.exe. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. The software installer includes 7 files and is usually about 3.51 MB (3,679,847 bytes).

How do I remove Free Zip?
You can uninstall Free Zip from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
- On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
