Overview

Dell Tech Concierge is a program developed by Dell. The most used version is 2.004.032.2548.01, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The software installer includes 31 files and is usually about 36.4 MB (38,166,978 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows 10. While about 100% of users of Dell Tech Concierge come from the United States, it is also popular in United Kingdom and Canada.

In the last 2 weeks, 2 different Dell Techs have uninstalled Dell Tech Concierge and reinstalled. The icon with the bell appears on my desktop and taskbar each time it is installed. Within a matter of minutes the icon changes and when I click on it I get the following message. "the item 'intfr.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Should this shortcut be removed along with the program? In another article, Dell says sometimes the uninstall program doesn't remove all parts.

I rate Dell Concierge Service as a cut above all the rest in the business. However the software I will not allow on either of my dell computers 7 or 8. It is unnecessary and causes problems. The Dell # for around the clock assistance is all you need. The software is just one extra item that can give your computer indigestion when added to existing programs.

Found it to be using over 50% of CPU on an older Windows Vista laptop circa 2006
