Overview

Universal Media Server is a program developed by universalmediaserver.com. The most used version is 5.0.1, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The software installer includes 5 files and is usually about 99.61 MB (104,450,680 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 10 as well as Windows 7 (SP1).
