"USB Safely Remove" is an excellent tool in all regards. don't be fooled by the overall sentiment, it's just a mathematical formula. As good as it is, I found that it tends to be quite unfair to applications that do not get used by a lot of people. Think of an app that is awesome but not many people use (say a comic book reader) and run it through the test, you'll see what I mean.
