This one is hard to get rid of! It uses too many resources on my pc so I wanted to delete it. I followed the usual procedures, and it was gone. But, it kept showing up again. Other scanners would not show it, but this one did; I am impressed. I hope it is GONE now! I have decided not to try out new add-ons or programs until I can try them in another computer I am setting up (actually, just an external hard drive I can boot from which is essentially a copy of my internal laptop drive) and show them to be safe or at least not more trouble than they are worth. Several years ago, it seems to me that there were fewer add-ons available, but likewise, there were fewer problems with those that were available. Now, there are some amazing programs and software on the internet, but also, there is an enormous amount of "junk", "bait and switch" (get you with a "free download" and a "free something else", then, once you run it, you have to pay for it to finish; this is especially prevalent with scanners which look for scams, malware, viruses, and so forth. They often turn out to be more malware than malware scanner! Anyway, I am grateful to have found this software and knowledge site. It seems to know a lot about software that I got "suckered" into downloading and installing, then, can't get rid of. I am looking forward to using this along with my isolated drive scheme when I want to see if a download is going to work as they claim, if it is going to be a problem, then, can I get rid of it? This one is good in that it does not install a bunch of stuff which could contain malware itself, or could have been hijacked by a worm or virus or ??? and had something bad put in it. There is just this software, with the information about various programs stored on the internet, so it can be easily updated. It has already saved me from my foolish attempts to find a "free lunch", that is, amazing software that rivals commercial products, or is even better, but costs little or nothing. Other than Firefox, I doubt that exists much anyway.
