What is Search Protect?
From the Terms of Service:
"Search Protect is a separate piece of software installed on your hard-drive in connection with your installation of a Toolbar. It is designed to protect your Search settings from takeover by third parties. Search Protect captures information about companies attempts to redirect and/or change your Search settings. Conduit does not sell, share, or rent the information you provide through Search Protect with any third parties. It may share the information with its wholly owned subsidiaries. You can uninstall Search Protect at any time by using the standard uninstall processes that are available as part of your operating system (for example: add/remove programs in Windows).
Further, you agree that by using the Conduit Software you may periodically send technical data and related information to Conduit to facilitate the provision of updates, product support and other services to you, if any, related to the Conduit Software. Such information may include, but is not limited to, technical information or personal preferences about your computer or device (whether mobile device or other), and/or internet Browser and/or system."
Conduit Search Protect is distributed by a number of download managers and co-bundlers (Premium Installer, Web Installer) as well as with most Conduit Toolbars.

How do I remove Search Protect?
You can uninstall Search Protect from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
- On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall a Program.
- Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
- When you find the program Search Protect, click it, and then do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall.
- Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
- Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove Search Protect.
- If for some reason uninstallation fails, please install Microsoft's uninstall fixer utility which will help fix problems with programs that can't be uninstalled at support.microsoft.com.
