PerfectUpdater

What is PerfectUpdater?

PerfectUpdater is the software update program that runs with Windows in the background and checks for updates, and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates. If it finds an item to download, it will download and install the new update.

Overview

The most used version is 2.0.651.14630, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is perfectupdater.exe. The software installer includes 34 files and is usually about 13.31 MB (13,960,665 bytes). gbducheckupdate.exe is the automatic update component of the software designed to download and apply new updates should new versions be released.
