PC Speed Maximizer v4

What is PC Speed Maximizer?

PC Speed Maximizer is marketed as a 'PC optimization' software program that works by cleaning the PC's registry whose purpose is to remove redundant items from the Windows registry. The usefulness of registry cleaners is controversial and the software may make no distinction as to the severity of the errors detected and thus may erroneously categorize errors as critical. This version is a rebrand of a white label registry cleaner (from Avanquest Software S.A.) that is often bundled with 3rd-party software.

About  (from Smart PC Solutions)

With just the click of a button PC Maximizer will optimize your PC, remove potentially privacy risks and free up disk space. PC Speed Maximizer's powerful scan finds more items to clean and optimize than ever before. With PC Speed Maximizer you can easily customize the registry scan to include or exclude certain files.

Overview

It adds registry entry for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named PCSpeedMaximizer.exe. Many users end up uninstalling this after less than a month of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 11 files and is usually about 23.25 MB (24,383,358 bytes).
  • Automatically starts with Windows
  • Typically distributed through a pay-per-install bundle
  • The wisdom of the experts agree, if you don't use it you should remove it!
PC Speed Maximizer has been found to be bundled with 3rd party software. If you have not purposefully installed this, you should be safe uninstalling it.
