What is PC Cleaner?
PC Cleaner is marketed as a PC performance optimizer that utilizes several techniques to attempt to increase the speed of the user's PC include registry tuning (which is a practice that is often criticized by experts as producing no results) as well as hard drive scrubbing. The overall value of such PC performance optimization is questionable yet might offer some benefit depending on the overall usability of the PC.
Overview
During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 13 files and is usually about 27.25 MB (28,575,364 bytes).
