What is Opera?

The Opera browser is a free web browser that handles common Internet-related tasks such as displaying web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, chatting on IRC, downloading files via BitTorrent, and reading web feeds. Its security features include built-in phishing and malware protection and the ability to delete private data such as HTTP cookies.

The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is opera.exe. The software installer includes 5 files and is usually about 8.92 MB (9,351,530 bytes).
