What is MediaCoder?

MediaCoder is a transcoding program that uses various open source audio and video codecs to transcode media files to different audio/video formats including MP3, Vorbis, Opus, Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG-4 Part 2, MPEG-2, Windows Media Audio, RealAudio, WAV, Audio Video Interleave, Video CD and DVD-Video.

Some versions use the OpenCandy software library to bundle potentially unwanted software offers during installation. During a batch conversions once a certain number of conversions have been performed a window appears requiring asking the user to donate at least $20USD. After donating the user is supplied with an ID which must be entered and verified in the software.
