MediaBar

What is MediaBar?

Visicom MediaBar is an ad-supported (users may see additional banner, search, pop-up, pop-under, interstitial and in-text link advertisements) cross web browser plugin for Internet Explorer (BHO) and Firefox/Chrome (plugin) and distributed through various monitization platforms during installation. The browser extension includes various features that will modify the default or custom settings of the browser including the home page, search settings and in some cases will modify Internet Explorer's load time threshold, place a lock file within firefox to prevent competing software from changing its settings as well as disable the browser's Content Security Policy in order to allow for cross site scripting of the plugin.

The most common release is 2.5.0.100449, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. The program adds a toolbar to Microsoft Internet Explorer. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named iMeshMediaBarDx.dll. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 92 files and is usually about 3.03 MB (3,174,264 bytes).

How do I remove MediaBar?

You can uninstall MediaBar from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
