Overview

Magentic is a software program developed by Perion Network. The most common release is 1.3.1.967, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named Magentic.exe. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 24 files and is usually about 4.29 MB (4,495,347 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows XP. While about 49% of users of Magentic come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and France.
  • Automatically starts with Windows
  • Known to include offers within the setup
  • The wisdom of the experts agree, if you don't use it you should remove it!
Magentic has been seen bundling various 3rd party software during the installation process. Make sure to check for and remove unused programs.
