What is MSI SUITE?

MSI Suite is a set of utilities included with various MSI motherboard models (Z77 motherboards, Virtu MVP, Intel Rapid Start). The MSI Suite program is the shell program which provides an interface to access the various included utilities. The suite includes the following programs:

ClickBIOS II for Windows, "provides a consistent user interface both in the UEFI BIOS and in Windows, it provides the most convenient way for users to control system settings and supports touchscreen control."

Control Center, a group of features that include real-time overclocking, power savings, data recording, motherboard LED control, CPU temperature, CPU fan speed and many other useful features.

Live Update which is designed to update the programs installed with the suite.

Genie utilities which are designed to optimize your network traffic prioritization, video saturation and color adjustment, and audio output.

Video Genie, software that is an automatic modifier for the monitor in an attempt to optimize low brightness areas in videos/films.

Audio Genie, a program that optimizes the audio experience from the on-board audio. The speaker setup can be changed alongside a series of preset functions for films, games etc.

MSI Teaming Genie is designed to pair up capable Ethernet ports into one connection.

MSI Super Charger software enables and disables the increased power delivery of the USB header on the board which supplies more power than the standard USB header.


The most used version is 1.0.036, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version).
