Overview

Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 is a software program developed by Kingsoft Security. The most common release is 2012.5.7, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to provide quick access to the program. The primary executable is named kismain.exe. The setup package generally installs about 58 files and is usually about 74.41 MB (78,020,179 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows 7. While about 21% of users of Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 come from the United States, it is also popular in DZ and MA.

First, if you check VB100 you'll see that Kingsoft AV is one of the top AV apps, and it's free. There are two versions, the older one, Kingsoft AV 2012 (which I recommend) and the latest professional version which requires a serial# ($10 to buy & register). Second, uninstalling Kingsoft AV 2012 simply presents you with a window asking if you are sure you wish to uninstall it (not recommended of course) and delete the items in quarantine. The pro version, Kingsoft AV 2014, doesn't let you update until you pay for it, so it's technically not free, but it does come with more features, such as a firewall. I'm a computer programmer/tech, and I install and recommend Kingsoft AV 2012 on everyone's computer. It is so good that I have to turn it off to use some 'installation' tools and even some apps. It's very easy to use. Use the free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for a second opinion. Stop paying for AV apps! Patch your 'Hosts' file for extra protection.

The Problem begins when you click uninstall button. Because it redirects to Kingsoft's website with absolutely no English language and so many options to do. You will not know which button to click on to uninstall this god damn program if you don't know how to read the Chinese language. Absolutely amazing people are these Chinese guys.
