K-Lite Codec Pack 7.0.0 Basic

What is K-Lite Codec Pack Basic?

K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of audio and video codecs for Microsoft Windows that enables the operating system and its software to play various audio and video formats generally not supported by the operating system itself. The Full edition includes 31 additional components and four additional tools beyond those included in the Standard edition, as well as adding video encoding capabilities to Microsoft Windows PCs. However, no encoding or conversion tool is included in the package.

About  (from Codec Guide)

The basic variant contains everything you need to play all the common video file formats. Such as AVI, MKV, MP4, OGM, and FLV. This pack is for those who like a small no-nonsense pack. It is small, but powerful.

The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 3 files and is usually about 12.7 MB (13,314,624 bytes).
