Java SE Development Kit 6
What is Java SE Development Kit 6?
The JDK is a development environment for building applications, applets, and components using the Java programming language. Java Platform, Standard Edition or Java SE is a widely used platform for programming in the Java language. It is the Java Platform used to deploy portable applications for general use. Java SE consists of a virtual machine, which must be used to run Java programs, together with a set of libraries.
Overview
Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is javaws.exe. The software installer includes 105 files and is usually about 37.83 MB (39,668,224 bytes).
