What is Fried Cookie Updater?
Fried Cookie Updater is the software update program installed with all Fried Cookie apps that runs with Windows in the background and checks for updates, and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates. If it finds an item to download, it will download and install the new update.
Overview
Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is Updater.exe. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. The setup package is about 1.11 MB (1,164,764 bytes) when donwloaded. Updater.exe is the automatic update component of the software designed to download and apply new updates should new versions be released.
Fried Cookie Updater has been seen bundling various 3rd party software during the installation process. Make sure to check for and remove unused programs.
