FormatFactory is an ad-supported freeware multimedia converter that can convert video, audio, and picture files. It is also capable of ripping DVDs and CDs to other file formats, as well as creating .iso images. It can also join multiple video files together into one. FormatFactory supports 3gp, mpg, mkv, flv, swf, mp4, vob, mov, wav, aac, jpg and other audio, video and image formats.

Overview
A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to provide quick access to the program. The primary executable is named formatfactory.exe. The setup package generally installs about 27 files and is usually about 107.13 MB (112,337,612 bytes).
