What is Expat_Shield Toolbar?
Expat Shield is a VPN program that allows users to access UK TV websites such as BBC iPlayer and ITV when outside of the UK. Expat Shield routes your IP address via a UK IP address as if you were still in the UK wherever you are in the world. Normally, the BBC will block any IP address that is outside teh UK from accessing its services both online and through the BBC iPlayer program.

Overview
The program adds a toolbar to Microsoft Internet Explorer. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is tbExp2.dll. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. It also bundles additional software in the form of the Conduit Engine, which installs a potentially unwanted toolbar, and makes homepage and default search engine changes to a user's web browser. The software installer includes 15 files and is usually about 2.59 MB (2,716,242 bytes).

How do I remove Expat_Shield Toolbar?
You can uninstall Expat_Shield Toolbar from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.

If your web browser homepage and search settings have been modfied by Expat_Shield Toolbar you can restore them to their previous default settings.
