Remove DivX Setup

DivX Setup is the installer for the DivX player and codecs. DivX is a brand name of products created by DivX, Inc. including the DivX Codec which became popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality. There are two DivX codecs; the regular MPEG-4 Part 2 DivX codec and the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC DivX Plus HD codec. It is one of several codecs commonly associated with "ripping", whereby audio and video multimedia are transferred to a hard disk and transcoded.

The most used version is 2.6.1.8, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is DivXSetup.exe. The software installer includes 4 files and is usually about 3.15 MB (3,300,621 bytes).

• Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
2. When you find the program DivX Setup, click it, and then do one of the following:
• Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall.
• Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
3. Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove DivX Setup.
