What is Brother MFL-Pro Suite DCP-357C?
This is the software that allows a Windows PC to recognize and print to the Brother DCP-357C multi-function device. The MFC Software Suite includes various software including the core printer and scanner drivers, the Control Center as well as an OCR application for converting an image into text and it is integrated into PaperPort. It also includes a document management application for viewing scanned documents and various True Type fonts.

The MFL-Pro Suite software is a software program designed to give the greatest flexibility, functionality and enjoyment from your Brother machine. This program is included on the product CD-ROM and it is installed during the initial setup.
Overview
The most common release is 1.0.2.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 27 files and is usually about 1.61 MB (1,691,023 bytes).
