What is BitTorrent?

BitTorrent is a desktop application that allows you to work with torrent files.BitTorrent allows you to download files available as torrents, search torrent sites for music, videos, books, software and other free or public domain material. BitTorrent will modify system settings upon installation, making the Application the default application for handling torrent files, if you do not already have an program associated with torrent files.

It adds registry entry for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named bittorrent.exe. The setup package generally installs about 3 files and is usually about 951.57 KB (974,409 bytes).
