Audacity is a free digital audio editor and recording application. As well as recording audio from multiple sources, Audacity can also be used for post-processing of all types of audio, including podcasts by adding effects such as normalization, trimming, and fading in and out.

Overview
A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is audacity.exe. The software installer includes 17 files and is usually about 9.02 MB (9,458,356 bytes).
