Remove Altiris Application Metering Agent

This feature requires the Symantec Management Agent, Inventory Agent, and an Application Metering Plug-in be installed on all target computers so that you can monitor and record the usage of applications. The data is recorded in the CMDB and is viewable through reports.

Altiris Application Metering Agent is a program developed by Altiris. The most used version is 6.1.55, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The software installer includes 24 files and is usually about 44.22 MB (46,371,209 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows XP as well as Windows 7 (SP1). While about 65% of users of Altiris Application Metering Agent come from the United States, it is also popular in PR and Finland.
