What is Amazon Mini?

Amazon Mini is an ad-supported browser extension (adware), and when a user downloads the Plugin they will see various types of advertisements displayed through the browser as they visit various web sites. The browser toolbar/extension displays several basic types of advertising: sponsored links, traditional display advertisements, such as banner ads, pop-unders and coupons, and targeted ads and may sometimes appear as in-text advertising and may also be displayed in response to keyword searches.

About  (from Crossrider Advanced Technologies (Platform))

The Toolbar interacts with your computer by: Displaying advertisements, including without limitation by inserting into web pages or displaying over parts of such web pages advertisements, banners or coupons that would not otherwise appear; Converting words on pages you view into hyperlinks that are linked to advertisem...  Read more

During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up (this is typically done to avoid any UAC prompts). It adds a Browser Helper Object (BHO) to Internet Explorer. Once installed, it will add an extension to both the Firefox and Chrome web browsers. The main program executable is utils.exe. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. The software installer includes 14 files and is usually about 6.18 MB (6,475,109 bytes).

The program is built using the Crossrider framework, a cross browser monetization platform used to deploy a toolbar and extension for modern web browsers with monetization features including browser search and homepage redirection, contextual coupons and in-line text advertising. Crossrider extensions include background processes to monitor, update and automatically download new features/code without direct user interaction.
