What is BrowseSmart?

This toolbar for Internet Explorer is an ad-supported extension that is designed to inject advertising in the web browser in the form of banner and contextual ads. In addition, the program will change the user's home and search pages. In a typical scenario, the software is installed as part of a co-bundled pay-per-install offer from a third party in order to generate revenue from installs. While optional in most cases, it is generally installed as part of the setup routine as the user agrees to install it because the offer is engineered in such as way to 'trick' the user into agreeing to include the toolbar in the installation.
