Overview

GeekBuddy is a program developed by COMODO. The most used version is 4.18.121, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The programs's main executable is unit.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 19 MB of memory. The software installer includes 27 files and is usually about 38.27 MB (40,128,601 bytes). The program is built using the Nokia Qt cross-platforms native C++ framework. How do I remove GeekBuddy?

You can uninstall GeekBuddy from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.

Grateful to Should I Remove it.•over a year ago

unit.exe slowed down my XP Pro 'puter so much that it wouldn't even shut down properly. I had to use another computer to look up the problem! Glad I found this site. I had a suspicion that Comodo was somehow evolved because the problem began right after I installed it. Since Geek Buddy can be uninstalled without having to delete the AV/firewall it's not that big a deal. I sure do appreciate the info found on this page because when I saw unit.exe hogging processes I panicked because I thought my poor old XP PC was done in.

I haven't been able to use GeekBuddy for about 2 months. I've spent many hours trying to resolve the problem and response from Comodo support has become nonexistent. You'd think they would have a download for an ALTERNATE GeekBuddy that would enable their rep to connect to my PC and resolve the problem?
