What is YTD Toolbar?

This toolbar is typiclaly bundled with the installation of the free YouTubeDownloader and installs a Spigot toolbar (YTD Toolbar) in your Web browser that collects and stores information about your web browsing habits and sends this information to Spigot so they can suggest services or provide ads via the toolbar. The toolbar is typically bundled with the free YTD Video Downloader software as an option during installation and does not necessarily get uninstalled when YTD Video Downloader is removed from the user's PC and must be removed manually. Additionally, if the home page and search settings were modified by this toolbar, they need to be manually reverted back by the user.

When i installed the youtubedownloader program a pop-up screen appeared and asked me if i want to install the additional offers or not. I accepted because i wanted this toolbar. I find the YTD toolbar useful simply because it comes with a fast YTD download button that helps me download all the videos i like using just one click. However if you really don't like it you can follow the steps given here: http://www.spigot.com/uninstall.html

YTD Toolbar installer (or loader or whatever) gets plunked into your system even IF you rejected the installation of the toolbar during the install of the YouTube Downloader. I won't get into the hows of it, but do an Internet search on the YTD Toolbar and read the articles on how to rid yourself of this thing. Do a deep search nuke of any / all files related to YTD, YTD Toolbar, and Spigot. Get into your Startup "folder" (msconfig.exe) and disable the "SearchSettings" program. Then run, run far, far away from YTD. As good as the downlaoder appeared to be, imho, the pain of the Toolbar INSTALL ME window popping up makes it very much NOT worth it.
