Six Updater

What is Six Updater?

Six Updater is the program which runs on the PC and checks for updates and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates. The program is primarily designed to keep the software up to date or provide product patches if required. In addition to releasing new versions of the software at regular intervals, the update program can provide additional information to the user. Users can choose a different schedule, or check manually if they don’t have a continuous Internet connection. If it finds an item to download, it will download and install the new update.

Overview

The most used version is 2.09.7016, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is Six Updater GUI.exe. The software installer includes 51 files and is usually about 38.08 MB (39,932,341 bytes). Six.SelfUpdater.dll is the automatic update component of the software designed to download and apply new updates should new versions be released.
