Shank 2

What is Shank 2?

Shank 2 is a sequel to a 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up video game Shank by Klei Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Shank 2 features a new multiplayer survival mode, updated combat mechanics, and new weapons. Shank 2 does not feature the cooperative story mode which appears in the previous installment, instead offering a two-player survival mode. Like the first game in the series, Shank 2 is a side scrolling beat 'em up with a comic book art style. The player once more controls Shanks, using his three different weapon types: a set of knives, a heavy melee weapon and a ranged weapon. The player can collect temporary-use weaponry from fallen enemies, such as crates, fish and cleavers, and also has a supply of munitions, which expands upon the original game, which featured only grenades, by also providing molotov cocktails and proximity mines, which are selectable depending on player preference and availability mid-stage.

Overview

During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named x360ce.exe. The setup package generally installs about 40 files and is usually about 41.87 MB (43,906,541 bytes).
