Qtrax is an ad-supported digital music service that allows music fans to download free music from three of the major labels – EMI, Sony Music and Universal Music Group. The Qtrax client has been created on the Microsoft Silverlight Platform and utilizes the Microsoft's Windows Media Digital Rights Management. Downloaded songs have to be played on a proprietary player buily on the Songbird platform

Overview

Qtrax Connection Manager is a software program developed by Qtrax Inc. It adds registry enrty for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named notification.exe. The setup package generally installs about 10 files and is usually about 9.5 MB (9,959,475 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows 8.
