What is Opera?

The Opera browser is a free web browser that handles common Internet-related tasks such as displaying web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, chatting on IRC, downloading files via BitTorrent, and reading web feeds. Features include tabbed browsing, page zooming, mouse gestures, and an integrated download manager. Its security features include built-in phishing and malware protection and the ability to delete private data such as HTTP cookies.

Overview

Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is opera.exe. The software installer includes 23 files and is usually about 15.19 MB (15,926,034 bytes).

How do I remove Opera?

You can uninstall Opera from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
