What is Nokia Software Updater?
Nokia Software Updater is the software update program that runs with Windows in the background and checks for updates, and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings. The program can be configured by the user for maintaining a schedule for when to check the remote server for periodic software updates.
Overview
The most common release is 3.0.655, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 235 files and is usually about 96.2 MB (100,869,478 bytes). The installed file DeviceUpdaterProcess.exe is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered.

How do I remove Nokia Software Updater?
You can uninstall Nokia Software Updater from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
